Dear all,

Well nearly 10 days on from Rotary Global Swimarathon, but we are still enjoying every moment of this extraordinary event.

Thankyou so much for all the amazing stories , pictures and videos that you continue to share with us. We will make sure that over the next few weeks, all those stories are told via the blog / facebook / website as well as being shared with you here via email.

Enthusiasm and support for a 2013 Rotary Global Swimarathon (scheduled for any time of day Saturday 23rd February 2013 has been overwhelmingly positive with well over 150 clubs registering their interest via email / facebook and twitter already!

For those of you using social media tools, you may have seen on Facebook / Twitter over the last day or so that we've shared the official Rotary Global Swimarathon anthem, "A message to the World" which was written , sung and performed by our very own Rotary Club of Grantham member Barry Phillips all about the determination of Rotary members around the world to eradicate Polio. There will be a professionally produced video available shortly but for now so that you can hear and see the song, here's the version I've shared on youtube, with some of those fantastic pictures from around the world - hope you like it!.

We are delighted to report that we are now starting to receive the first few completed Record submission packs in the post/ mail so are busily processing those. Couple of quick reminders - please make sure that witness statement letters are on headed note paper, and please make sure there are 2 separate signed witness statements sent with your submissions.

Here are those all important current numbers - number of reported swimmers - now at 5200

Amount raised worldwide - a fantastic £43,598 reported to date which according to current exchange rates is around US $68635

Please do keep us updated with your latest fundraising amounts- there are still around 20 or so clubs who we haven't yet had any updates from , so would appreciate if you could send them , as it would be great to see if we could collectively raise over £50,000 and close in on the $100,000 - if you have updated totals - please do let us know - local currency amounts are fine.

Just as a reminder, all funds raised should be processed locally through your normal Polio Plus / Rotary Foundation channels - NO FUNDS NEED TO BE SENT TO US, but we do of course want to get your updates on how much has been raised so we can share with everyone and add to the global total.

We will be shortly sending out a spreadsheet that we are using to track the reported donations and numbers so you will be able to check the numbers stated for your club and let us know if there are any amendments.

Thankyou once again for all your incredible support - what a family of Rotary!!
