In the fast growing town of Ziwai, about 170 Kilometer south of Addis Ababa, an Rotary Club is emerging. Mid December 15 people met in the conference hall of the Municipality to discuss about founding a Rotary Club. Country Extension officer, Rotarian Yeshimebet and three other Rotarians from Addis Ababa met the potential Rotarians in Ziwai to give same examples of their Rotary practice and information about the Worldwide Rotary network and activities.
The initiative to form a Rotary Club was started by Rotarian Dr. Klaus Meier, a Member of the RC Addis Ababa Bole, who moved his Residence from Addis Ababa to Ziwai. On his list were 28 potential members named. The participants decided to meet again before End of December to push the forming of the new Club forward.
