  • Club members hold (or are retired from) professional positions and have been actively involved in community affairs.
  • Each Rotary club makes its own membership decisions.
  • With the exception of Rotary e-clubs, which are by definition global, members typically live in or near the community where the club is located.
  • Rotary clubs meet weekly.

Rotary Membership

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 166 countries.

Rotarians are business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives. A Rotary club contains a diverse group of professional leaders from the community that the club serves.

Rotary membership gives men and women an opportunity to forge new friendships and share the rewards of helping others through volunteer service.

The Rotary club meeting is a chance for members to socialize, network, and plan service activities based on local needs and their own interests and talents. In addition Rotary clubs often team up with clubs in other countries to carry out international service projects, enhancing members’ cross-cultural understanding. Rotary clubs are open to people of every race, culture, and creed.
